ExxonMobil licenses LNG storage tank technology to Skanska Whessoe

HOUSTON-Jan. 12 -- ExxonMobil Upstream Research Co. reported that it has licensed a patented LNG storage tank technology—modular tanks—to UK-based engineering and construction contractor Skanska Whessoe. The technology employs modern shipyard fabrication practices and a scalable, modular design.

ExxonMobil currently is participating in the production of about 20% of the world's LNG.
