Hathon joins Cairn as exploration director

Eric Hathon has joined Cairn Energy PLC, Edinburgh, as director of exploration.

He succeeds Richard Heaton, who will retire in May after 23 years with the company.

Hathon has been director, conventional exploration, at Marathon Oil Corp., which he joined as an exploration geologist in 1991.
