Devon makes executive appointments

HOUSTON, Sept. 19 -- Devon Energy Corp. has elected two corporate officers.

K. Earl Reynolds was appointed vice-president, strategic planning, and Joseph P. Ash was named vice-president and general manager of Devon's international division.

Reynolds's responsibilities will include strategic and tactical planning and budgeting, coordination and management of asset acquisitions and divestitures, and oversight of the company's annual assessment of oil and gas reserves.

Reynolds most recently served as vice-president and general manager of Devon's international division. He joined the company in 2003 when it acquired Ocean Energy Inc. At Ocean, he served as senior vice-president, international and Gulf of Mexico operations. Prior to joining Ocean, Reynolds worked for 10 years with Burlington Resources Inc. in a variety of operational and management positions, and previously with Mobil Oil.

Ash, prior to his new appointment, has served as Devon's director of special projects. Ash joined Devon in 2000 when the company acquired Santa Fe Snyder Corp. Since then he has served in several capacities at Devon in both domestic and international operations, including exploration and development manager in the southern division. Prior to that, Ash served as exploration and business development manager in Devon's international division.

Ash began his oil and gas career in 1985 with Mitchell Energy Corp., where he was responsible for exploration and development projects within the Gulf Coast and Midcontinent regions. Ash's industry experience includes exploration, development, business development, budgeting, and reserve planning.
