Gazprom unit, Pakistani firm to align work

KARACHI, Feb. 7 -- Zarubezhneftegaz, a subsidiary of Russia's OAO Gazprom, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Shahzad International, Islamabad, to cooperate on energy projects in Pakistan and other countries. The MOU covers exploration, development, production, processing and marketing, and oil and gas pipelines.

The companies also agreed to bid jointly for Pakistani oil and gas assets that are to be privatized (OGJ, Dec. 5, 2005, p. 22).
