HOUSTON, July 26 -- Alex Archila has been appointed joint chief executive officer of Madagascar Oil Ltd., London.
Archila will share duties with current Chief Executive Officer and company founder Sam Malin for an unspecified interim period.
Archila has 24 years of industry experience, including large asset transactions and heavy oil operations in Canada and South America. He has been president of Chevron Canada Ltd. the past 4 years.
Madagascar Oil holds rights to six onshore blocks that total 53,000 sq km in Madagascar, including a heavy oil accumulation at Tsimiroro and an ultraheavy oil deposit at Bemolanga.
