Wentworth Energy names executives

Wentworth Energy Inc., Palestine, Tex., has appointed Michael Studdard as president.

HOUSTON, Aug. 23 -- Wentworth Energy Inc., Palestine, Tex., has appointed Michael Studdard as president.

Prior to his appointment, Stubbard, an independent landman, founded two companies—S. Studdard & Associates, which specializes in seismic permitting and exploration ventures, and Signature Geophysical Inc.

Stubbard previously worked for GFS Co., TGC Industries Inc., Ward Exploration (which he coowned), and SPS Services Inc.

Separately, George Barnes, with more than 24 years of drilling experience, has been appointed Wentworth's vice-president, operations.

For the past 14 years, Barnes served as president of Barnico Drilling Inc., which Wentworth recently acquired in a $7.5 million cash and stock deal.

Tom J. Temples has been named Wentworth's vice-president, exploration and production. He has 30 years of experience in exploration, development, and management of petroleum ventures in North America.

Temples is founder and coowner of Advanced Environmental Solutions LLC (AES), a geological research and consulting company in Lexington, SC.

Prior to founding AES, Temples served as senior geotechnical advisor to the US Department of Energy at Savannah River site. He was exploration manager for Peko Oil USA, where his responsibility included risk assessment and budget preparation for a $200 million program. Early in his career, he served in various capacities with Texaco Inc.
