Noble makes executive appointments

Noble Energy Inc. has appointed David L. Stover executive vice-president and chief operating officer, a new position. He will oversee all exploration and production activities for the company.

HOUSTON, Aug 1 -- Noble Energy Inc. has appointed David L. Stover executive vice-president and chief operating officer, a new position. He will oversee all exploration and production activities for the company.

Stover joined Noble Energy in 2002. He most recently served as Noble's senior vice-president for North America.

Before joining Noble, Stover held senior management positions with BP and predecessor companies Vastar Resources and ARCO.

Separately, Rodney D. Cook and Ted D. Brown have been elected Noble Energy vice-presidents. Cook, based in Houston, manages the company's operations in the southern region of North America, and Brown, based in Denver, is responsible for the company's operations in the northern region of North America.
