Pelosi taps NRDC official as energy policy advisor

WASHINGTON, DC, Feb. 5 -- US Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Feb. 3 has named Karen Wayland, currently legislative director of the Natural Resources Defense Council, as her policy advisor for energy.

Wayland will succeed Amy Fuerstenau, who recently left the speaker's staff to work for the Energy Foundation in San Francisco.

Pelosi also announced two other staff appointments. She named Anne Cannon MacMillan as her policy advisor for agriculture, veterans, small business, and rural outreach; and Bridget Fallon as her protocol and special events director.
