Shell appoints chief scientist, geology

HOUSTON, Apr. 11 -- Royal Dutch Shell PLC has appointed Bruce Levell to chief scientist, geology.
Levell has 29 years of experience and is actively involved in the Geological Society and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists. He regularly speaks at industry conferences and serves on the editorial board of Petroleum Geoscience.
Levell joins a group of eight scientists.
