Beaumont voted president-elect of AAPG

Edward A. Beaumont, senior geologist with SM Energy, Tulsa, was elected president-elect of the 36,000-member American Association of Petroleum Geologists.

HOUSTON, June 8
-- Edward A. Beaumont, senior geologist with SM Energy, Tulsa, was elected president-elect of the 36,000-member American Association of Petroleum Geologists.

Beaumont, who succeeds David A. Rensink, will serve as AAPG president in 2012-13.

Beaumont was an exploration geologist with Cities Service Oil Co. and was AAPG science director before becoming an independent consultant and later joining SM Energy.
