Schultz named Essar Oil UK chief executive

Volker Schultz has been named chief executive officer of Essar Oil UK, a subsidiary of Essar Energy PLC, Mumbai.

Volker Schultz has been named chief executive officer of Essar Oil UK, a subsidiary of Essar Energy PLC, Mumbai.

Schultz joins Essar Energy from BP, where he worked for 23 years, most recently as head of refining and marketing strategy and portfolio.

Essar Energy recently completed the purchase of the 296,000-b/d Stanlow refinery in Northwest England from Royal Dutch Shell (OGJ Online, Aug. 2, 2011). The company also operates a 294,000-b/d refinery at Vadinar, India, and owns a 50% interest in the 80,000-b/d Kenya Petroleum Refineries Ltd. refinery in Mombasa.
