Total names executives in restructuring

Total SA has made a series of executive appointments related to the restructuring of its downstream business announced in October (OGJ Online, Oct. 10, 2011).

Total SA has made a series of executive appointments related to the restructuring of its downstream business announced in October (OGJ Online, Oct. 10, 2011).

The company is separating manufacturing from supply and marketing while retaining an integrated structure. The new assignments:

• Michel Benezit becomes special advisor to the chairman and chief executive officer.

• Patrick Pouyanne becomes president of chemicals and a member of the executive committee. He eventually will be president of the new refining and chemicals business.

• Philippe Boisseau becomes president of refining and marketing and a member of the executive committee. He will be president of the new supply and marketing business.

• Yves-Louis Darricarrere, president of exploration and production and a member of the executive committee, also becomes president of gas and power, leading a review of future organization of Total’s gas and alternative energies activities.

Francois Cornelis, president of chemicals and vice chairman of the executive committee, is stepping down from operational responsibilities.
