HOUSTON, May 20 -- Stone & Webster Inc., a Shaw Group Inc. subsidiary, and an affiliate of ExxonMobil Chemical Co. have formed a joint venture company called Badger Licensing LLC for licensing petrochemical technology products.
The joint venture, equally owned by its parent companies, is being completed concurrently with Stone & Webster's recent acquisition of Badger Technologies from Washington Group International Inc. for $17.7 million. Badger Technology previously was part of Raytheon Engineers & Constructors Inc., Philadelphia, Pa.
Badger Licensing will market, license, and develop new and improved technologies for ethylbenzene, cumene, styrene, and their derivative products. The joint venture also will supply catalysts and basic engineering packages for these processes.
