Oiltec Resources names new chairman

Oiltec Resources Ltd., Calgary, appointed Ed Chwyl its chairman at the company's annual shareholders' meeting in Calgary late last month.

HOUSTON, June 5 -- Oiltec Resources Ltd., Calgary, appointed Ed Chwyl its chairman at the company's annual shareholders' meeting in Calgary late last month.

Chwyl succeeded Charles M. Williams, who indicated last year that he would step down as chairman at the 2003 annual meeting. Williams remains a director.

An Oiltec director since May 2001, Chwyl has worked in the oil and natural gas industry for 35 years. He formerly was Marathon Oil Canada Ltd. CEO and also was Tarragon Oil and Gas Ltd. CEO before that company was sold in 1998.
