Kuwait oil workers went on strike Apr. 17 over a government overhaul of the payroll system spawned by low oil prices (OGJ Online, Apr. 14, 2016).
Citing a Kuwait Oil Co. source, the Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg reported a crude oil production rate of 1.1 million b/d compared with a normal rate of about 3 million b/d.
The news agencies said three refineries operated by Kuwait National Petroleum Corp. were operating at about 520,000 b/d of their total processing capacity of 900,000 b/d.
