Kuwait oil and gas workers have plans for a strike beginning Sunday, Apr. 17.

Workers fear reduced salaries, benefits, and layoffs will be part of a planned government overhaul of the payroll system in the public sector, the Reuters news agency reported.

Kuwait Petroleum Corp. said the Cabinet has taken several measures to deal with the impact of low oil prices on Kuwait’s budget.

Kuwait produces about 3 million b/d of crude.
