The Chinese Ministry of Commerce has cleared the proposed merger of Schlumberger Ltd. and Cameron International Corp. without any conditions.

Schlumberger agreed to acquire Cameron in a $14.8-billion deal late last summer (OGJ Online, Aug. 26, 2015).

The companies said that the commerce ministry’s approval represents the last major closing condition to the proposed merger, which is expected to close on Apr. 1.
