HOUSTON, July 8 -- Midland, Tex.-based Parallel Petroleum Corp. has added six new employees to its operational and engineering divisions.
Steven D. Foster has been hired as chief financial officer. From November 2000 to May 2002, Foster worked for Parallel Petroleum affiliate First Permian LP as controller and assistant secretary. During September 1997 to November 2000, he held numerous accounting positions for Pioneer Natural Resources USA, a unit of Pioneer Natural Resources Co., Dallas. Prior to this, Foster worked for 8 years for TotalFinaElf SA predecessor Fina Inc.
Brian W. McCurry was hired as manager of operations. McCurry worked for First Permian as operations manager from 1999 to May 2002. Prior to that, McCurry worked for Fina Oil & Chemical Co. for 18 years, where he served in various managerial positions.
Jerry W. Nevans has been hired as director, business development. Nevans worked for First Permian as a division engineer from 1999 to May 2002. From 1985 to 1999, he worked for Fina Oil & Chemical, serving in various engineering capacities. Prior to that, Nevans worked for 3 years for Getty Oil Co. and Texaco USA.
Rita A. Ramirez has been hired as senior land administrator. Most recently Ramirez was employed by First Permian as a land technician from December 2000 through May 2002. From 1992 to 2000, she was employed by Houston-based Santa Fe Snyder Corp. as a senior land tech. Prior to that, Ramirez worked for 10 years as a lease analyst for Adobe Resources Corp.
Donald E. Tiffin has been hired as vice-president, business development. Tiffin previously worked as a general manager for First Permian during August 1999 to May 2002. Before that, Tiffin worked for 20 years in various engineering and managerial positions with Fina Oil & Chemical.
Debra S. Tuffly has been hired as director, technical services. Tuffly previously worked for Fina Oil & Chemical and First Permian as an engineering technician in the production department from 1991 to May 2002. During 1978-83, Tuffly held various positions for The Woodlands, Tex.-based Mitchell Energy Corp., Chevron USA, and Texaco Inc.
