Niem joins Oregon coalbed methane developer

HOUSTON, May 3 -- Dr. Alan Niem has joined Methane Energy Corp., a subsidiary of Torrent Energy Corp., Vancouver, BC, as a geologist.

John D. Carlson has been named chief operating officer.

Methane is developing a coalbed methane pilot in Coos County, Oregon, where it holds rights to more than 70,000 prospective acres in the Coos Bay basin.
