bp lets offshore Egypt deepwater contract

bp PLC has let a contract to DeepTech for delivery of rig support ROV services for the West Nile Delta development offshore Egypt.

bp PLC has let a 3-year contract to DeepTech for delivery of rig support ROV services for the West Nile Delta (WND) development offshore Egypt. Two work class ROVs will be provided to support drilling, completion, and subsea activities.

WND includes five gas fields across the North Alexandria and West Mediterranean Deepwater offshore concession blocks and has been developed as two separate projects to accelerate gas production in Egypt (OGJ Online, Aug. 14, 2023). It is expected to produce about 1,400 MMcfd of gas.

The first system will be installed on a deepwater drillship and the second on a platform supply vessel to support drilling activities. The contract includes an option for further extension.

bp is operator at WND with 82.75% interest.
