The Petrobras-led Libra consortium will work with Halliburton Co. to develop a digital twin for Mero unitized field in the presalt area of Santos basin offshore Brazil.

The companies will develop an integrated and dynamic digital twin of the production system, including the reservoir, wells, and subsea network. It will bring together asset sensors, data, and models, including 4D seismic, and smart completions through systems with a real-time view of the reservoir, wells, and facilities, the service provider said in a release Dec. 11.

Mero is part of the Libra production sharing contract signed in December 2013 and operated by Petrobras. Partners are Shell Brasil, TotalEnergies, CNPC, and CNOOC, with Pré-Sal Petróleo SA (PPSA) representing the government in the non-contracted area.
