Repsol Norge ASA's 30,000-tonne Gyda platform decommissioning is complete following delivery of the 11,000-tonne jacket, Allseas said in a July release.
The service provider’s Pioneering Spirit vessel delivered the platform’s 11,000-tonne jacket to Aker Solutions’ disposal yard in Stord, Norway, less than 48 hours after removing it from Block 2/1 in the southern Norwegian Sea, the service provider said. Prior to decommissioning, the platform—in 66 m water depth between Ula and Ekofisk fields—had been on production for nearly 3 decades.
On July 19, the jacket was set down directly onto the quayside and reunited with its decommissioned drilling and production topsides, delivered by the vessel in May. Aker Solutions expects to recycle around 98% of the infrastructure.
Allseas’ vessel completed the removal, transport, and load-in to the disposal yard of the entire Gyda platform, its 32 conductors and template, in 12 days, the company said.
