Ecopetrol to auction Colombian assets

Ecopetrol Group launched Ronda Campos Ecopetrol 2020 Sept. 23, offering its entire stake in nine development and production assets in Colombia. Three are in Middle Magdalena Valley basin (Tenerife, San Luis, and Lebrija), three in Upper Magdalena Valley basin (Toy, Totare, and Andalucía) and three in Llanos basin (Upía, La Punta, and Rancho Hermoso).

Assets in Middle Magdelena Valley lie near pipeline and road infrastructure in the vicinity of Ecopetrol’s Barrancabermeja refinery. Assets in Upper Magdalena Valley are turnkey with existing facilities and infrastructure in place with enough capacity to support scaled full-field development. Llano basin assets lie in the central area of the basin in eastern Colombia.

The asset portfolio offers the possibility of incorporating over 3,000 b/d of oil and gas and an estimated 17 MMboe of 3P reserves including 11 MMboe of proven reserves, Ecopetrol said. Contingent resource development opportunities are estimated at 13 MMboe with a projected exploration potential of 35 MMboe in prospective resources.

The auction will be held Dec. 3 with registered, qualified companies.
