Norway invites bids for mature offshore acreage

Norway has invited operators to bid for mature acreage in the Norwegian continental shelf with blocks in the Norwegian North Sea, Norwegian Sea, and Barents Sea under its Awards in Predefined Areas (APA) 2020 round.

Norway has invited operators to bid for mature acreage in the Norwegian continental shelf with blocks in the Norwegian North Sea, Norwegian Sea, and Barents Sea under its Awards in Predefined Areas (APA) 2020 round.

Since APA 2019, predefined areas (APA acreage) have been expanded by 36 blocks in the Norwegian Sea. Applications can be submitted for all available blocks or parts of blocks within predefined areas. Blocks or parts of blocks that become available less than 3 months prior to the application deadline cannot be applied for.

Each application for a production license must be submitted in electronic format. Deadline for application is Sept. 22, 2020. Following completion of the application process, new production licenses will be granted in the announced areas in early 2021.
