PGNiG Upstream Norway (PUN) has received final administrative consent to purchase an additional 10% interest in the Neptune Energy Norge-operated PL636 and PL636B licenses in the North Sea from Pandion Energy.

PGNiG Upstream Norway (PUN) has received final administrative consent to purchase an additional 10% interest in the Neptune Energy Norge-operated PL636 and PL636B licenses in the North Sea from Pandion Energy. Following the transaction, PUN interests in both licenses increased to 30% resulting in Duva field gas production attributable to the company increasing to 0.2 bcm per year.

Discovered in 2016, the plan for Duva field development and operation was approved by the Norwegian administration in June 2019. Production is expected to start at the end of this year or at the beginning of 2021. Development of the field, 14 km northeast of the Neptune-operated Gjøa field at a water depth of 340 m, is being coordinated with the redevelopment of Gjøa P1. Duva is being developed as a subsea installation with two oil producers and one gas producer in a tie-back to Gjøa (OGJ Online, Feb. 21, 2019). The field will be operated from the Gjøa semi-submersible platform via a dedicated umbilical. The plan also permits the drilling of an additional oil production well. Maximum annual output from the field is expected to reach 30,000 boe in the initial period.

PUN acquired the first 20% interest in Duva field in July 2019 from Wellesley Petroleum. Other interest holders are Idemitsu Petroleum Norge and Sval Energi.

PUN currently holds interests in 29 licenses on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
