Oil benchmarks on markets in New York and London settled lower Dec. 9.

The light, sweet crude contract for January on the New York Mercantile Exchange fell 18¢ to $59.02/bbl on Dec. 9 The February contract decreased 18¢ to settle at $58.92/bbl.

The NYMEX natural gas price for January dropped 10¢ to $2.23/MMbtu. The February contract was down a rounded 9¢ to $2.23/MMbtu.

Ultralow-sulfur diesel for January fell less than 1¢ to $1.94/gal. The NYMEX reformulated gasoline blendstock for January gained 7¢ to $1.65/gal.

Brent crude oil for February fell 14¢ to $64.25/bbl on London’s International Commodity Exchange. The March contract fell 11¢ to $63.28/bbl. The gas oil contract for December fell $1.00 to $586.25/tonne on Dec. 9.

The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries’ basket of crudes for Dec. 9 was $65.57/bbl, up 33¢.
