Oil benchmark prices rose Oct. 25 to end the week with light, sweet crude contracts for December settling above $56/bbl on the New York market while the Brent crude contract for December settled just above $62/bbl.
The December contracts for both WTI and Brent were up over $2.00/bbl from week ago levels (OGJ Online, Oct. 21, 2019).
Energy prices
The light, sweet crude contract for December on the New York Mercantile Exchange rose 43¢ to $56.66/bbl on Oct. 25. The January contract increased 44¢ to settle at $56.71/bbl.
The NYMEX natural gas price for November fell a rounded 2¢ to $2.30/MMbtu. The December contract was down less than 1¢ to a rounded $2.46/MMbtu.
Ultralow-sulfur diesel for November fell less than 1¢ to a rounded $1.98/gal. The NYMEX reformulated gasoline blendstock for November rose less than 1¢ to $1.67/gal.
Brent crude oil for December increased 35¢ to $62.02/bbl on London’s International Commodity Exchange. The January contract rose 34¢ to $61.73/bbl. The gas oil contract for November was $597.75/tonne on Oct. 25, down $1.25.
The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries’ basket of crudes for Oct. 25 was $62.16/bbl, up 53¢.
