ConocoPhillips awards Eldfisk, Ekofisk brownfield development contract
ConocoPhillips Skandinavia AS has let a brownfield maintenance and modification (M&M) services contract to Aker Solutions for Eldfisk and Ekofisk fields offshore Norway.
The contract includes a 6-year frame agreement with an extension option for up to two additional 3-year periods. The new contract starts January 2027.
The work will be managed from Aker Solutions' office in Stavanger, Norway, while fabrication will be carried out at the company's yard in Egersund.
Eldfisk oil field lies in the southern part of the Norwegian sector in the North Sea, 10 km south of Ekofisk field. Eldfisk was discovered in 1970, and the plan for development and operation was approved in 1975. Production began in 1979. ConocoPhillips is the operator.
Ekofisk was the first producing field on the Norwegian Continental Shelf in 1971 and is expected to still be producing in 2050.
