Well tests proved a production potential of 180,000 cu m/d of natural gas and 25 cu m/d of condensate for a total of 1,300 boe/day from the discovery well.
OMV Petrom discovered an onshore natural gas reservoir in Spineni about 70 km north-east of Craiova, Romania.
The prospect was identified using data from the 3D Spineni seismic survey conducted in 2022 in X Craiova block, the company said in a release July 3. The 1 Spineni exploration well, drilled to a depth of about 4,800 m, confirmed the presence of natural gas and condensate.
Well tests proved a production potential of 180,000 cu m/d of natural gas and 25 cu m/d of condensate for a total of 1,300 boe/d from the discovery well, the company said, indicating a commercially viable discovery.
OMV Petrom has already invested about EUR 15 million during the exploration phase of hte project, and will now move toward approval of a development plan.
