India’s state Oil & Natural Gas Corp. has reported an oil and gas discovery in the Assam-Arakan basin and a gas-condensate find in India’s western onshore basin.
The Geleki-334 well on the Namti PML block on the North Assam shelf produced 670 b/d of 32° gravity oil and 400 Mcfd of gas on a 6-mm bean from Mio-Pliocene Tipam TS 3B perforations at 2,868-77 m and 450 b/d of oil and 450 Mcfd of gas on a 6-mm bean from Tipam TS 3A perforations at 2,804-10 m. The discovery opens an area southwest of Geleki main field for exploration of the TS-3 sands, ONGC said.
Meanwhile, the Aliabet-3 exploratory well on NELP Block CB-OSN-2003/1 in the western onshore basin flowed 1.4 MMcfd of gas and 69 b/d of condensate on a 6-mm bean from the GS 8 sand of the Hazad member perforated at 2,176-81 m and 2,183-84.5 m. ONGC said the discovery proved the existence of multiple pay sands in the Hazad on the entire block.
