LLOG Exploration Co. has let a contract to EnerMech for pre-commissioning services at the Salamanca platform in Keathley Canyon Block 689 in the Gulf of Mexico.

The contract includes hydrotesting and nitrogen dewatering of three 8-in. infield flowlines, one 16-in. oil export pipeline and one 10-in. gas export pipeline. The award follows a previous contract for topside pre-commissioning services which EnerMech secured in 2024.

The Salamanca floating production unit (FPU) will operate at a depth of about 6,400 ft of water with production from Leon and Castille fields. The FPU has an initial production capacity of 60,000 bo/d and 40 MMcfd of gas. The unit is a refurbished structure from the decommissioned Independence Hub production unit (OGJ Online, Jan. 8, 2025May 4, 2022).

The project has a mid-2025 production target.

LLOG is the operator of the Salamanca FPU and the Leon and Castile discoveries with partners Repsol and OG Oil & Gas.
