Chevron, CNPC to develop Sichuan gas fields

Chevron and China's CNPC signed a 30-year PSC to develop the 2,000-km Chuandongbei gas area in Sichuan province.

HOUSTON, Dec. 18 -- Chevron Corp. and China National Petroleum Corp. signed a 30-year production-sharing contract to develop the 2,000-km Chuandongbei gas area in Sichuan province.

Chevron's main Chinese subsidiary will be the operator and hold 49% interest, while CNPC will hold 51% interest.

The Chuandongbei area includes Tieshanpo, Dukouhe-Qilibei, and Luojiazhai gas fields (OGJ Online, Aug. 8, 2007).
