Imperial plans nine Siberian oil field wells

Imperial Energy Ltd. said a wholly owned Siberian subsidiary plans to drill nine wells this year on identified oil-bearing intervals in Maiskoye oil field on Block 70 in Siberia.

HOUSTON, Mar. 14 -- Imperial Energy Ltd. said a wholly owned Siberian subsidiary plans to drill nine wells this year on identified oil-bearing intervals in Maiskoye oil field on Block 70 in Siberia.

Last month, the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources granted a 20-year exploration and production license to Imperial unit OOO Allianceneftegaz, which previously had a 5-year exploration license.

Imperial is constructing $15 million facilities capable of handling 10,000 b/d by yearend 2007, increasing to 17,000 b/d by 2009.

In addition, the company is constructing field facilities costing $15 million, which will be capable of handling 10,000 b/d of oil by yearend, increasing to 17,000 b/d by 2009.

Maiskoye field will be linked to Imperial's southern pipeline in the Tomsk region. The pipeline is under construction and expected to be in operation this year.
