HOUSTON, Mar. 1 -- Cumulative maximum flow rate from four intervals at the Kingfisher-1A discovery on Block 3A in the Albert graben in Uganda is 13,893 b/d of light, sweet, paraffinic oil, said operator Heritage Oil Corp., Calgary.

Four intervals in the well flowed at rates of 2,254-4,554 b/d/zone of 30-32° gravity oil. The deepest interval tested was at 2,344 m.

The deeper drilling needed to fully evaluate the Kingfisher prospect will take place later this year after completion of a 3D seismic survey and securing a larger rig.

Heritage holds 50% interest in Blocks 3A and 1 in Uganda and 39.5% interest in Blocks 1 and 2 in Congo (former Zaire). Tullow Oil PLC, London, is Heritage's partner in the blocks (see map, OGJ, Sept. 4, 2006, p. 56).
