HOUSTON, Mar. 16 -- Cameroon has awarded the Bomana exploration block in the offshore Rio Del Rey basin to Total SA, which will be operator with a 100% interest.

The 140-sq-km block is near other Cameroon blocks Total operates, producing about 60,000 b/d of oil.

Total operates the Rio Del Rey permit, in which Pecten Cameroon Co. and state-owned Ste. Nationale des Hydrocarbures also hold interests.

And it was awarded the Dissoni exploration block in April 2005 (OGJ, Apr. 11, 2005, Newsletter).
