HOUSTON, Apr. 1 -- Noble Energy Inc. has discovered oil and condensate at the Santa Cruz prospect in Mississippi Canyon Blocks 519-563.
The well, drilled in 6,515 ft of water, reached 18,900 ft TD. Open-hole logging indicated over 140 ft of net gas condensate pay and more than 110 ft of net oil pay in multiple reservoirs.
Noble anticipates production from this area in 2011.
Noble operates the Santa Cruz discovery with a 23.25% working interest. Partners are BP Exploration & Production Inc. with 46.5%, Houston Energy LP 10%, and Red Willow Offshore LLC 20.25%.
