LONDON, Jan. 30 -- Gold Oil PLC has suspended testing at its Rosa Blanca 1 well in Colombia after failing to discover producible hydrocarbons in the lower and middle sections of the target reservoirs.

The company drilled the well in December on the Rosa Blanca concession in the Middle Magdelena Valley, and it reached a TD of 3, 800 ft. It had four zones to test in the well, and preparing to drill took over 2 years. Gold Oil will target four prospects on the concession.

Its partners are Osage Exploration & Development Inc., Lewis Energy Colombia, and Empresa SA.

The consortium rigged down and will decide shortly on further work after analyzing data. One option is reentry to retest the middle sections and test the upper section.
