Frontier Resources International PLC, Houston, has begun early exploration efforts on Blocks 1717 and 1817 in the Owambo basin onshore northern Namibia near the border with Angola.

Using paper prints from Teledyne Geophysical 2D seismic surveys in 1969 and 1970, the company expects to derive a good interpretation of the structural geology of the blocks even though the absence of digital field tapes severely limited the level of reprocessing that was possible.
