Dragon tests Dzheitune oil well in Turkmenistan

Dragon Oil has tested more than 4,082 b/d of oil from the short and long strings in development well Dzheitune (Lam) A/125B on the Cheleken contract area in Turkmenistan.

LONDON, Mar. 24 -- Dragon Oil has tested more than 4,082 b/d of oil from the short and long strings in development well Dzheitune (Lam) A/125B on the Cheleken contract area in Turkmenistan.

The completed well reached 4,080 m TD. The company plans to carry out more testing and optimization over the coming weeks for the first time from the uppermost part of reservoir zone CH2.

The short and long strings produced 2,399 b/d and 1,683 b/d respectively. "The 'Iran Khazar' rig has since been skidded to slot 7 on the Dzheitune (Lam) A platform and will spud a further development well, Dzheitune (Lam) A/127 shortly," Dragon Oil said. "The new development well has a target depth of 4,164 m."
