Woodside awards shore base contract for Trion project offshore Mexico
Woodside Energy let a contract to Mexican company Eseasa Offshore SA de CV to supply shore base facilities and services for Woodside’s operations supporting the Trion oil and gas project offshore Mexico.
The company continues to progress the Trion project toward first oil in 2028.
Eseasa will provide a broad range of services out of its shore base location on the Panuco River coastline.
The work scope includes shore base infrastructure, operations planning and management for vessel mooring, load and discharge, freight and material management, and dedicated laydown and staging areas.
In June, Woodside made final investment decision to develop the Trion resource in Mexico, 19 miles south of the US-Mexico border and 112 miles from the Mexican coastline in 8,200 ft of water. (OGJ Online, June 20, 2023).
The project, which will target an estimated 479 MMboe of best estimate (2C) contingent resource, is expected to be developed with 18 wells (nine producers, seven water injectors, and two gas injectors) drilled in the initial phase and a total of 24 wells drilled over the life of the project. A 100,000 b/d capacity floating production unit (FPU) will connect to a floating storage and offloading (FSO) vessel with a capacity of 950,000 bbl of oil.
