Phu Quoc Petroleum sends letter of award for Block B gas development offshore Vietnam

Phu Quoc Petroleum let a limited letter of award to a consortium of McDermott and Petrovietnam Technical Services for engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and hook-up and commissioning services for the Block B gas development project.

Phu Quoc Petroleum Operating Co. (PQPOC) let a limited letter of award to a consortium of McDermott and Petrovietnam Technical Services Corp. (PTSC) for engineering, procurement, construction, installation (EPCI), and hook-up and commissioning (HUC) services for the Block B gas development project off the southwest coast of Vietnam.

Under the full project scope, the consortium will provide EPCI and HUC services for a central production platform, living quarters platform, flare tower, and bridges.

The full project contract is expected to be executed between the parties in early 2024 with an award value of more than $1 billion.

PQPOC, operator of the project, envisages gas production output of over 5 billion cu m/year for about 20 years with first natural gas expected end-2026.

The operator let a contract in May to PVD Invest, a subsidiary of Petrovietnam Drilling and Well Service Corp., for project management.
