Repsol awards contract for Yme field tieback

Repsol has let an EPCI contract to DeepOcean AS for marine operations in connection with the tieback of Yme Beta north reservoir to existing facilities in the Norwegian North Sea.

Repsol has let an EPCI contract to DeepOcean AS for marine operations in connection with the tieback of Yme Beta north reservoir to existing facilities in the Norwegian North Sea (OGJ Online, Dec 20, 2017).

The award covers project management, engineering, construction and offshore installation activities. Offshore work includes marine operations for installation and tie-in of subsea spools, flying leads and installation of subsea structures at Yme Beta north field. Preparations for start of production for Yme Beta north tie-back are also included.

The onshore project team will work out of Haugesund, with offshore execution scheduled for 2021.

Yme, in the southeastern part of the Norwegian North Sea, lies 130 km northeast of Ula field in 100 m water depth. The reservoir contains oil in two separate main structures, Gamma and Beta, in sandstone of Middle Jurassic age in the Sandnes formation at a depth of 3,150 m.

Repsol Norge is operator (55%) with partners LOTOS Exploration and Production Norge AS (20%), OKEA ASA (15%), and KUFPEC Norway AS (10%).
