National Iranian Oil Co. reports a major discovery of natural gas in Fars Province, southern Iran.

It estimates the field, Eram, holds 13 tcf of recoverable gas with 19 tcf in place.

Eram is 200 km south of Shiraz.

NIOC says the field is 50 km long with an average width of 5 km.
