Aker BP ASA has been granted a drilling permit by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate for well 6608/6-1 in production license 762 in the Norwegian Sea.
The well will be drilled 60 km northeast of Norne field using Odfjell Drilling’s Deepsea Stavanger semisubmersible drilling rig.
This is the first exploration well to be drilled in PL 762. The area in PL 762 consists of parts of Blocks 6608/6, 6608/9, 6609/4, and 6609/7.
Aker BP ASA is operator with 20%. Other licensees are Equinor Energy AS with 60% and Petoro AS with 20%.
