Canacol Energy Inc., Calgary, said the Los Cuervos-Barco reservoir at its Rancho Hermoso-6 development well in Colombia made 6,205 b/d of 35° gravity oil with 7% water cut on an electric submersible pump from perforations at 9,726-43 ft measured depth. The reservoir has 33 ft of net oil pay.

HOUSTON, Aug. 30
– Canacol Energy Inc., Calgary, said the Los Cuervos-Barco reservoir at its Rancho Hermoso-6 development well in Colombia made 6,205 b/d of 35° gravity oil with 7% water cut on an electric submersible pump from perforations at 9,726-43 ft measured depth. The reservoir has 33 ft of net oil pay.

Canacol will place the Los Cuervos-Barco reservoir on long-term production and around the end of 2010 will commingle it with the Guadalupe reservoir.

The well tested a gross rate of 3,340 b/d from the Ubaque reservoir and at 3,302 b/d from the Guadalupe reservoir. Rancho Hermoso field is in the Llanos basin.
