Petrominerales Ltd., Bogota, set casing at its Corcel-F1 well to test the Lower Sand 1, Guadalupe, and Mirador formations.

HOUSTON, June 16
– Petrominerales Ltd., Bogota, set casing at its Corcel-F1 well to test the Lower Sand 1, Guadalupe, and Mirador formations.

Corcel-F1 went to TD 12,830 ft measured depth and had gas shows similar to those in the Corcel-E1 well.

Corcel-B1, the next well, is to spud by the end of June.

The company is to begin deliveries this week to the Monterrey offloading station 77 km from Corcel, reducing trucking costs. Capacity of 11,000 b/d is to be boosted to 20,000 b/d by early third quarter 2009.

The company also has spud the Chiguiro Este-1 exploration well, first in a three-well heavy oil exploration program on 818,650 acres in the southern Llanos basin.
