A deepwater wide-azimuth 3D survey has been completed ahead of schedule for Chevron North AS in the Norwegian Sea west of Bodo, Norway.

The operator retained CGGVeritas to shoot the 2,190 sq km survey, which is the first commercial wide-azimuth project using the patented BroadSeis technology. The geophysical company said the contract offered an opportunity to demonstrate the value of the technology relative to subvolcanic imaging in subbasalt areas.
