Evolution Petroleum Corp., Houston, will continue its lower emphasis on a mid-depth Woodford shale gas project in eastern Oklahoma until natural gas prices enable it to achieve targeted economics.

The company had reentered the John Wells-1 vertical well in Haskell County, east of the main industry Arkoma basin Woodford shale play, and established attractive production and pressure at 5,000 ft. The company also sought to unitize a second location.
