PGNiG Upstream Norway becomes operator of Polaris CCS project

The Norwegian Ministry of Energy has approved PGNiG Upstream Norway as operator of the Barents Sea Polaris CO2 storage project.

The Norwegian Ministry of Energy has approved PGNiG Upstream Norway (PUN) as operator of the Polaris CO2 storage project (exploration license EXL003) in the Barents Sea.

Polaris will provide CO2 storage for the Horisont Energi AS and Fertiberia Barents Blue project as well as other CO2 customers.

Horisont Energi and (PUN) announced a sales purchase agreement on Dec. 11, 2023, making PUN a license partner.

Horisont Energi and PUN each hold 50% interest in EXL003.
