Dana Gas PJSC has increased production in Egypt with new drilling and workovers.

The company made a gas discovery in the North El-Basant 1 exploratory well, the fourth in an 11 well program in Egypt’s onshore Nile Delta. Initial well results indicate estimated reserves of 15–25 bcf of gas, with production expected to exceed 8 MMcfd once the well is connected to the national network.

Earlier this year, Dana Gas completed the drilling of 3 wells, adding 10 MMscfd. Dana Gas expects to spud the Daffodil exploration well, the fifth in the program, the first week of January 2026.

An agreement with the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Co. (EGAS) has allowed Dana Gas to secure additional acreage under improved fiscal terms and to accelerate this new phase of drilling activity, the company said. The program is expected to add about 80 bcf in recoverable gas reserves.

Meantime, Dana Gas successfully recompleted three wells, adding 9 MMscfd of production outside the current drilling program.
